PROFILE

Yuichi Nakamura

I was born in Tokyo in 1970. I started playing Contrabass in 1983.

I studied under the direction of Nobuo Shiga, who is a member of NHK Symphony Orchestra.

I graduated from Waseda University in 1993. I majored in physics and I am a Bachelor of Science. 

After that, I studied at Toho-Gakuen of Music, got my diploma of Music in 1997,

and studied in the master course at the same school for two years.

Now I belong to the professional string orchestra (Ensemble Kounosu Virtuoso)

and I play in several professional orchestras as a extra-member.

I had several solo recitals in Japan and this year I have started the series of Solo Recitals of

gYuichi Nakamura Contrabass Recitalh.

I will continue the series in ten years.

And I am a vice-director of NPO (Nonprofit Organization) gEnsemble Storksh.

I studied under Prof. Duncan McTier in the master course in Sion, Switzerland in 1996,

and also under Francesco Petracchi in the master course in Tokyo in 1998.

I took lessons of  Shu Yoshida, Sigeru Ishikawa,  Prof. Reiner Zepperitz, Thomas Martin and Eugene Levinson,.
