Kayo Takuma is an associate professor of International Politics at the Faculty of Urban Liberal Arts, Tokyo Metropolitan University. Her research interest is global health governance's origin, evolution, and challenges, with a focus on its relationship with the changing international political order. In this regard, she is now mainly engaged in two projects: a comparative study on G7 countries' contribution to the implementation of the International Health Regulations and a study on how the Allies' functional cooperation during the Second World War, especially in the provision of food and medicine, laid a foundation for post-war international organisational movements. She also serves as a media review editor for Medical History (Cambridge Journal).
